PERSONAL STATEMENT
I wanted to participate in the DISCs project to learn from peers and best practice on how better to incorporate social justice into my teaching on law and human rights. In particular, I want to grow in my understanding of how to encourage greater student awareness, reflection and responsibility for social justice as it relates to law, the legal profession and the potential of both to contribute to social justice. I remain keen to challenge myself to interrogate my own position and role in facilitating these processes for students and in enabling a more participatory and student led learning experience

- Develop techniques to ensure greater student participation and self-reflection on social justice in class room contexts
- Continue to revise and critique my readings and style of delivery of the Critical Approaches to Law module to ensure intersectional voices are heard on law’s relationship with social justice
- Develop an e-portfolio assessment mechanism that will enable student self-reflection as the form of assessment for the module
